« J’avais composé ce titre pour mon disque Toutes Directions en 2012, Jean Pierre Muller, qui en avait conçu le visuel, avait alors écrit ce texte. Je l’aimais beaucoup mais ça tombait à un moment où certaines critiques sur mon accent anglais m’avaient un peu déstabilisé, c’est pourquoi je n’avais pas osé le sortir. Le morceau était apparu dans l’album sous le nom de Sentinelle mathématique, avec des paroles écrites par Barbara Carlotti au même moment. En réécoutant le texte de Jean Pierre (qui signe aussi la pochette du single), je me dis que ça vaut le coup de le publier, c’est fait aujourd’hui. »
